Favorite Makeup Products of The Moment

Hi lovelies! It's been awhile since I posted my current favorite makeup products. This is what I've been using lately anytime I do my makeup. These are products worth buying!! The lucky ones that don't sit and rot in a bin.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Medium/Deep Matte Bronzer: I love this bronzer for so many reasons. The first being that it smells like CHOCOLATE. That alone makes me happy every time I use it. The formula is super smooth and blends so easily. Also, this color is hands down my favorite color of any bronzer I've ever used. It look so natural, and really mimics a true tan to me. I'm in love with this product all around! Click here to buy.

Too Faced Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Priming Powder & Finishing Veil: I got this as a sample or free gift and can't believe I waited so long to use it. It is almost used up and I am 100% buying this! It is a white, invisible loose powder. I use it as a setting powder after foundation and concealer. It is by far the best setting powder I've ever used. I like it better than Make Up Forever HD powder, and better than any of the Ben Nye setting powders as well. It leaves my face matte and flawless ALL DAY. Even if I'm broken out and my skin is crappy looking, somehow it magically blurs all my imperfections. I am just obsessed with this. Click here to buy.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara: Another Too Faced product! I'm telling you they've really stepped their game up! I never really cared for their products in the past, now I can't get enough! Everyone has their specific preference for mascara, but I have several friends who really love this as well. I like it because the wand is big and fluffy. It goes on really effortlessly, and you barely have to apply any product. One coat and my lashes look amazing. Two coats and they are thick, full, and dramatic. Click here to buy.

MAC Warm Neutral Eye Shadow Palette: The colors are perfect. There are so many amazing combos you can use. I have had this for awhile and just started using it again. Read my full review here
or here to buy.

Dose of Colors lipgloss in Undressed: This is not your typical lipgloss. It is highly pigmented and more of a liquid lipstick. The color itself is a nude with pale pink undertones. I also love it because I can wear it alone or with some lipliner and that's all you need. No lipstick is really needed under. Click here to buy.

Armani Eye Tint Senso #10: I have been using this a ton during the day simply because I can smudge a little on with my finger and I'm done. It's quick and simple. I chose this one specifically because the color is absolutely stunning - a bronze, brown with plum undertones. It will make any eye color pop! Click here to buy.

Armani Eye & Brow Maestro Ambre 04: This is what I have been using in my brows. It glides on easily and the color is perfect for me. I was a bit nervous at first because it looks a bit glittery in the pot. I definitely didn't want sparkly eyebrows! It doesn't come out glittery/sparkly at all. Crisis averted! The consistency and smoothness of the product is what I love. I was using the Tarte Amazonian Clay  Brow Mousse before. It would tend to get a bit dry, flaky, and hard to work with. When you are building your brows from scratch like me - you have to find that perfect formula. This is it for me! Click here to buy.

PMD Personal Microderm Review

I wanted to share my experience with this at home personal microdermabrasion device. I am kind of obsessed with exfoliating and getting rid of old, dead, icky skin. I have a toddler so going to a med spa or dermatologist to get treatments is basically out of the question these days. I have pretty much figured out how to do any and every treatment at home! Including microderm now!

This is what the kit includes:

-PMD device
-Plug in cord (it does not charge the device, it must stay plugged in while using)
-4 discs for face
-3 discs for body
-2 caps (1 that fits face discs, 1 that fits body discs)
-1 cushion O-ring
-Instruction booklet and DVD

Benefits of Microderm:
-most widely known for anti-aging benefits
-improves tone and texture
-softens fine lines and wrinkles
-helps with acne and scarring
-minimizes large pores
-helps diminish age spots, sun damage, and hyper-pigmentation

***I highly recommend watching the instructional DVD. It is short and you will know exactly what to do after you've watched it. They make it really simple!

My thoughts: I got this device back in December and have been addicted since the first use. It is super easy to use and very gentle, yet effective.

How the device works: It comes ready to use right out of the box pretty much! That is always a plus. Once you have watched the DVD you will feel confident and ready to start! PMD recommends using the white training disc for the first few uses. I 100% agree and think this is imperative. The first time you use the device, it takes a few strokes to get the hang of it and you don't want to damage your skin with a more powerful disc. Honestly, I like the training disc the best anyway (since it's the most gentle). Once you turn your device on, the disc made of aluminum oxide crystals spins to clear dead skin. It also vacuums suctions at the same time to suck up all that it is buffing off. It's really that simple!

How my skin looks after: I use it before bed. I wouldn't recommend doing it during the day or before you have to go somewhere. My face is a bit red all over, however, it is super soft and glowing. I use a gentle toner and moisturizer afterwards. In the morning there are no signs of redness and I am good to go! As usual, please wear SPF during the day.

With continued use: I have noticed that almost all of the dark marks on my cheeks from past sun damage or acne are almost completely gone. I think it really helps with fine lines on my forehead and in between eyes. I just love how my skin looks overall since I've been using this (besides my traumatizing 6 months of Retin-A - but that's another post).

#1 tip for using this: DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT linger in one spot for even a second too long. It has a pretty powerful suction, so keep your skin pulled taught and move very quickly. I learned the hard way and got a red circle shaped "burn" or "spot" the first time I used it.

Cost: $159 for the device I have. This discs need to be replaced once they are worn and are $15 for the replacement kit.

I got mine from Ulta and the shipping was super fast! It is only available online here.

My Skincare Secret...Dermaplaning

"Dermaplaning is a simple and safe procedure for exfoliating the epidermis and ridding the skin of fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). "

I don't often get compliments on my skin, but when I do it's because I have had it dermaplaned. I found out about this procedure around 8 years ago, and am so very thankful I did. My esthetician has the most beautiful, glowing, radiant skin you've ever seen. She told me her secret was dermaplaning. I got it done right there on the spot. I didn't even care what she was about to do to me! I just wanted her skin!

The procedure: She takes a surgical scalpel (don't be alarmed - there is no cutting, blood, or pain!!) and gently runs it across the entire surface of your face. She is in turn removing all of the dead skin cells and peach fuzz from your face. The more you get, the more it helps remove pigmentation and fine lines over time. It also allows all of your pricey beauty products to absorb better into your skin. You will notice a huge difference in your skin all around.

The deal with removing peach fuzz: You may be worried that your hair will grow back thicker, longer, and darker after dermaplane. This is simply an old wives' tale. As long it is only peach fuzz (not black or dark hair), it will grow back exactly like it was before.

The result: Your skin feels like newborn baby skin. It is so soft, silky, and smooth.

Prior to the procedure: There is no downtime with dermaplaning. I recommend a Glycolic peel directly after. Your skin is better able to absorb the product, allowing for a more effective peel. Be sure to wear sunscreen afterwards.

The cost: My Med Spa charged $40. I have also paid $50/$60 at other places.

How often: It can be done every 2 weeks, but I prefer once a month.

There you have it! My little secret! Shhhh....we don't want everyone knowing ;)

XOXO

Frankie Rose Cosmetics

I'm so excited to share this amazing line with you guys! They are becoming super popular for their full-coverage foundation that feels like you aren't wearing anything. They also offer an entire line of perfectly pigmented cosmetics. Everything I tried was better than the next and beautifully packaged!
The lip set I have pictured is seriously one of the most gorgeous peachy nude combos ever!
The eyeshadow palette is so versatile and all of my favorite colors. How did they know? 3 gorgeous bronze, honey, and silver shades. 2 perfect matte shades.
This gel liner is so easy to apply and lasted the entire day. The little brush that came with it actually worked great.

Great cosmetics brand to check out and I'm really looking forward to trying more of their products (in particular their blushes- they look fabulous)! View more products or purchase here!

Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer

Since this is my 2nd pot of this - I thought a review was in order!

The Shade: The first pot I had was totally the wrong color, so I never really got the full effects of just how great this product is. This time I went with the shade 'SX06'. I think this shade will cater to a lot of medium/beige tones.

The Packaging: This is a VERY small container. It is the size of most potted concealers you would find on the market. It is 0.63oz to give you a better idea.

The Product: As you may have guessed this product is extremely concentrated. A tiny tiny bit goes a very long way. This is 100% full-coverage and I personally would only use it for special occasions/going out at night/pictures, etc. Just a few tiny dots will be enough for your entire face. I used a damp Beauty Blender for a bit more natural look, and I also tried with a Sigma Foundation Brush for a full-coverage look. I did find it easier to blend with the damp Beauty Blender. Maybe the bit of water helped it spread easier.

The Results: Your face will seriously look flawless. It will cover any and all imperfections. This is full on glam foundation!! I would highly recommend setting this with powder since it is so rich. Once set- it will last all night. I have super oily skin - it still does great - I just use extra sparingly.

*Even though this is in a concealer looking pot, I wouldn't recommend using it as concealer. It is a bit too rich/moisturizing and will crease under the eyes. I would use something like Make Up Forever Full Coverage Concealer. It dries very quickly and is smudge proof - I think it is very compatible with this foundation.

The Price: I got mine for $48 from Nordstrom. Click here to buy!

Shade: SX06

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit + Brow Pro Palette

Merry Christmas to me!!! I'm on makeup cloud 9 with these palettes. I have heard so many great things about these magical kits by Anastasia Beverly Hills. She is really starting to create some amazing makeup products.

I love that both of these are in books, not cases. Seems easier to open and close to me if you are doing makeup on someone else, or on yourself! Here are my thoughts...

The Contour Kit is perfect for so many reasons. It comes with 6 colors (3 for contouring, 3 for highlighting). The 3 dark shades are all matte. I used the shade 'Java' for contouring/bronzing. There are 2 matte shades for highlighting and one with a hint of shimmer. I set my powder with the yellow, matte highlight color 'Banana'. It is very similar to Ben Nye Banana Powder.

I love this for the obvious: it is convenient, it is easy to carry with you/travel, it has everything you need in one palette, and it eliminates the need for 6 different compacts (I basically said the same thing 4x- I'm excited). The shades will work for literally EVERY skin tone. You can go as light, dark, natural, or dramatic as you want. Mainly - the products themselves are high quality and easy to apply. The end results are flawless. I highly recommend this to anyone, especially makeup artists. Price: $40 (which I think is a great price for all you get)

Brow Pro Palette This kit contains 22 brow shadows and 1 wax primer. I would mainly recommend this for makeup artists. I'm not entirely sure why any one person would need 22 shades of brow powder! Maybe if you change up your hair color like every week?! Ha! Anastasia knows her brows - so this powder is top notch quality! You would have to spend a bazillion dollars to invest in 22 eyebrow shades (plus primer). For makeup artists, I honestly think this is an absolute must have. You will never get stuck in a situation where you don't have the correct shade. Ever! Price: $88 (Again, for 22 shades you can't beat it!)

Xoxo
