Sunday Riley

I have been dying to try some products from this line!! I have had my eye on the Luna Sleeping Night
Oil for so long! I couldn't get this stuff on my face fast enough. I've been using the SPF and the night oil for over a week now. Here are my thoughts!

Cashmere SPF 30

What is is formulated to do: "This powerful sunscreen, with its luxurious texture and finish, provides weightless hydration without any white streaks or typical oiliness. The formula detoxifies the skin and provides continuing anti-pollution protection. With use, skin feels softer, looks more youthful, and is protected from the daily assault of UV and pollution."

My thoughts: It is a nice lightweight daytime moisturizer. It is not oily in the slightest. In fact it may be on the dry side. If you have oily skin this is a great option for you! I had no skin irritation with this at all. Be sure to rub it in really well or it can leave a bit of a film. I like that it's not a super oily sunscreen, especially since I live in the South with high humidity.

Luna Sleeping Night Oil

What it is formulated to do: "With an advanced retinol complex, Luna helps reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles while simultaneously correcting damage caused by the sun, time, and pollution. Use this oil before bed to notice firmer, clearer skin by morning. Trans-retinol ester fights the look of fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of skin elasticity while an essential oil complex calms and soothes skin. Cold pressed avocado, chia, and Concord grape seed oils sink into skin for quick absorption of actives while boosting radiance."

My thoughts: Before I even tried this I was already obsessed with it! A retinol that comes in a luxurious oil is pure genius! I love face oils (even though my sensitive skin isn't always crazy about them). It comes in a dropper bottle, which I always like. The oil itself is actually blue tinted and for some reason that made me like it even more. Don't worry your face won't be blue! It glides right on like a dream, and feels like heaven! So far no irritation, peeling, or redness. It seems to be very gentle. The first couple of nights I did notice a few little bumps (probably junk it pulled to the surface). It wasn't a breakout by any means and hasn't been an issue. I can't tell any major results yet, but my skin feels glowing and hydrated. Usually any retinol leaves me a bit peely and dried out. I'm thrilled that this is gentle. There is no need to moisturize after because your skin feels so plump and silky from the oil.

Giorgio Armani Crema Nuda

As if I wasn't obsessed with Armani Beauty enough. They have created the single most luxurious foundation I have ever laid eyes upon. The jar screams to be displayed on your bathroom countertop. Here are my thoughts on this $200 jar of foundation. Yes, you read that correctly.

The product: Beautiful packing - duh. The jar itself is generously sized at 1.69 ounces (the Armani Luminous Silk Foundation bottle is 1 ounce for comparison). What's inside the jar is even better. Armani has foundation down to a science. This literally does what it claims it will do: "The new generation of tinted cream: the first supreme nude glow treatment with performance power that surpasses BB and CC creams. Transparent pigments suspended into a water based texture allow the skin to reflect light in multiple directions for an enhanced glow while blurring imperfections. The specially blended formula contains Armani’s exclusive anti-aging complex Reviscentalis to improve skin radiance and reveal younger looking skin. Hyaluronic acid and mannose complete the formula by adding deep hydration with a weightless feel. Available in Six Glow Enhancing Shades."

It truly leaves your skin glowing, dewy, youthful, moisturized, and just plain perfect.

Cons: The only downside to this is that I would not wear it to do full blown makeup. It's way too moisturizing and maybe not the full blown coverage you would want for a special event. This is a daytime foundation. It replaces your moisturizer and whatever daytime foundation/tinted moisturizer you use. To spend $200 on a daytime face makeup kind of hurts. BUT it will last for probably eternity.

Skin type: If you have super oily skin this may not be the product for you. For my dry skin gals- you have found your favorite product! My skin is oily, but can also be super dry if not adequately moisturized. I usually don't wear makeup during the day, so I wore this alone with no powder, etc. My skin looked beautiful throughly the day, but by late afternoon I was a bit shiny.

I would recommend getting a sample before shelling out the cash for this one. Armani is usually so great about giving out samples.

Oribe Côte d’Azur

A quick post on a new product that I'm dying over! Oribe is one of my absolute favorite hair product lines. They hands down make the BEST smelling products out there. Their Dry Texturizing Spray and Thickening Spray are my go to staples! I think what I love most about them is the fact that they smell divine. The smell lasts for days and everywhere I go people are huffing my hair. Seriously, they are.

The point is, now they have bottled this amazing smell into a PERFUME. Genius!! Now my body can smell as good as my hair! Not to mention the name "Côte d’Azur"...who doesn't love the French Riviera?? Thank you Oribe!

Favorite Makeup Products of The Moment

Hi lovelies! It's been awhile since I posted my current favorite makeup products. This is what I've been using lately anytime I do my makeup. These are products worth buying!! The lucky ones that don't sit and rot in a bin.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Medium/Deep Matte Bronzer: I love this bronzer for so many reasons. The first being that it smells like CHOCOLATE. That alone makes me happy every time I use it. The formula is super smooth and blends so easily. Also, this color is hands down my favorite color of any bronzer I've ever used. It look so natural, and really mimics a true tan to me. I'm in love with this product all around! Click here to buy.

Too Faced Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Priming Powder & Finishing Veil: I got this as a sample or free gift and can't believe I waited so long to use it. It is almost used up and I am 100% buying this! It is a white, invisible loose powder. I use it as a setting powder after foundation and concealer. It is by far the best setting powder I've ever used. I like it better than Make Up Forever HD powder, and better than any of the Ben Nye setting powders as well. It leaves my face matte and flawless ALL DAY. Even if I'm broken out and my skin is crappy looking, somehow it magically blurs all my imperfections. I am just obsessed with this. Click here to buy.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara: Another Too Faced product! I'm telling you they've really stepped their game up! I never really cared for their products in the past, now I can't get enough! Everyone has their specific preference for mascara, but I have several friends who really love this as well. I like it because the wand is big and fluffy. It goes on really effortlessly, and you barely have to apply any product. One coat and my lashes look amazing. Two coats and they are thick, full, and dramatic. Click here to buy.

MAC Warm Neutral Eye Shadow Palette: The colors are perfect. There are so many amazing combos you can use. I have had this for awhile and just started using it again. Read my full review here
or here to buy.

Dose of Colors lipgloss in Undressed: This is not your typical lipgloss. It is highly pigmented and more of a liquid lipstick. The color itself is a nude with pale pink undertones. I also love it because I can wear it alone or with some lipliner and that's all you need. No lipstick is really needed under. Click here to buy.

Armani Eye Tint Senso #10: I have been using this a ton during the day simply because I can smudge a little on with my finger and I'm done. It's quick and simple. I chose this one specifically because the color is absolutely stunning - a bronze, brown with plum undertones. It will make any eye color pop! Click here to buy.

Armani Eye & Brow Maestro Ambre 04: This is what I have been using in my brows. It glides on easily and the color is perfect for me. I was a bit nervous at first because it looks a bit glittery in the pot. I definitely didn't want sparkly eyebrows! It doesn't come out glittery/sparkly at all. Crisis averted! The consistency and smoothness of the product is what I love. I was using the Tarte Amazonian Clay  Brow Mousse before. It would tend to get a bit dry, flaky, and hard to work with. When you are building your brows from scratch like me - you have to find that perfect formula. This is it for me! Click here to buy.

PMD Personal Microderm Review

I wanted to share my experience with this at home personal microdermabrasion device. I am kind of obsessed with exfoliating and getting rid of old, dead, icky skin. I have a toddler so going to a med spa or dermatologist to get treatments is basically out of the question these days. I have pretty much figured out how to do any and every treatment at home! Including microderm now!

This is what the kit includes:

-PMD device
-Plug in cord (it does not charge the device, it must stay plugged in while using)
-4 discs for face
-3 discs for body
-2 caps (1 that fits face discs, 1 that fits body discs)
-1 cushion O-ring
-Instruction booklet and DVD

Benefits of Microderm:
-most widely known for anti-aging benefits
-improves tone and texture
-softens fine lines and wrinkles
-helps with acne and scarring
-minimizes large pores
-helps diminish age spots, sun damage, and hyper-pigmentation

***I highly recommend watching the instructional DVD. It is short and you will know exactly what to do after you've watched it. They make it really simple!

My thoughts: I got this device back in December and have been addicted since the first use. It is super easy to use and very gentle, yet effective.

How the device works: It comes ready to use right out of the box pretty much! That is always a plus. Once you have watched the DVD you will feel confident and ready to start! PMD recommends using the white training disc for the first few uses. I 100% agree and think this is imperative. The first time you use the device, it takes a few strokes to get the hang of it and you don't want to damage your skin with a more powerful disc. Honestly, I like the training disc the best anyway (since it's the most gentle). Once you turn your device on, the disc made of aluminum oxide crystals spins to clear dead skin. It also vacuums suctions at the same time to suck up all that it is buffing off. It's really that simple!

How my skin looks after: I use it before bed. I wouldn't recommend doing it during the day or before you have to go somewhere. My face is a bit red all over, however, it is super soft and glowing. I use a gentle toner and moisturizer afterwards. In the morning there are no signs of redness and I am good to go! As usual, please wear SPF during the day.

With continued use: I have noticed that almost all of the dark marks on my cheeks from past sun damage or acne are almost completely gone. I think it really helps with fine lines on my forehead and in between eyes. I just love how my skin looks overall since I've been using this (besides my traumatizing 6 months of Retin-A - but that's another post).

#1 tip for using this: DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT linger in one spot for even a second too long. It has a pretty powerful suction, so keep your skin pulled taught and move very quickly. I learned the hard way and got a red circle shaped "burn" or "spot" the first time I used it.

Cost: $159 for the device I have. This discs need to be replaced once they are worn and are $15 for the replacement kit.

I got mine from Ulta and the shipping was super fast! It is only available online here.

My Skincare Secret...Dermaplaning

"Dermaplaning is a simple and safe procedure for exfoliating the epidermis and ridding the skin of fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). "

I don't often get compliments on my skin, but when I do it's because I have had it dermaplaned. I found out about this procedure around 8 years ago, and am so very thankful I did. My esthetician has the most beautiful, glowing, radiant skin you've ever seen. She told me her secret was dermaplaning. I got it done right there on the spot. I didn't even care what she was about to do to me! I just wanted her skin!

The procedure: She takes a surgical scalpel (don't be alarmed - there is no cutting, blood, or pain!!) and gently runs it across the entire surface of your face. She is in turn removing all of the dead skin cells and peach fuzz from your face. The more you get, the more it helps remove pigmentation and fine lines over time. It also allows all of your pricey beauty products to absorb better into your skin. You will notice a huge difference in your skin all around.

The deal with removing peach fuzz: You may be worried that your hair will grow back thicker, longer, and darker after dermaplane. This is simply an old wives' tale. As long it is only peach fuzz (not black or dark hair), it will grow back exactly like it was before.

The result: Your skin feels like newborn baby skin. It is so soft, silky, and smooth.

Prior to the procedure: There is no downtime with dermaplaning. I recommend a Glycolic peel directly after. Your skin is better able to absorb the product, allowing for a more effective peel. Be sure to wear sunscreen afterwards.

The cost: My Med Spa charged $40. I have also paid $50/$60 at other places.

How often: It can be done every 2 weeks, but I prefer once a month.

There you have it! My little secret! Shhhh....we don't want everyone knowing ;)
