Current Drugstore Favorites

Hi loves! I haven't updated my favorite drugstore products in awhile, so thought I would share what I'm currently using right now! Enjoy!

These Cover Girl lip crayons are a dupe for the Clinique Chubbies at a fraction of price! Love love love these! Honestly, never really would buy any COVERGIRL products on my own, but they sent me a few things and I'm so pleasantly surprised. Back in the day (high school) Cover Girl was my jam! I guess I forgot they have great makeup until now!

COVERGIRL Bombshell Powder Brow & Liner:  I've been wearing this powder liner a lot during the weekday - its quick and easy. I hate having to be too precise when I'm in a hurry and lucky to be even wearing makeup! It can also double as eyebrow shadow!

Rimmel Lift Me Up Mascara: I never buy expensive mascara! I love the wand on this Rimmel mascara - doesn't clump!

For drugstore primer and foundation - these are my 2 favorites! COVERGIRL Outlast Primer & Rimmel Lasting Finish: I like this primer simply because it doesn't make my foundation look splotchy. That always drives me crazy about primers!

Also, if you are a makeup artist on a budget and need many shades of foundations, these are super affordable, long lasting, and cover very nicely.

Aussie Total Miracle Collection: I use this shampoo and conditioner every single day. I've always loved Aussie. It smells so heavenly to me!

Their dry shampoo is awesome too! I go through a ton of dry shampoo and got sick of shelling out $50 for Oribe!

Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer & Instant Sun: These both happen to be by Jergens. I think this self-tanner is comparable to St. Tropez; maybe not quite as dark. Goes on evenly and smooth just like St. Tropez (I used a tanning mitt). It has been my go to this summer! (Warning: go easy on the knees with this product. I do my entire leg and barely rub my knee with whatever is left or it will be too dark)

The in shower lotion is a MUST HAVE for me. I love to moisturize after the shower, but I'm also really lazy. This is so easy! You turn off the water, apply all over your wet body (ooh la la), and then towel dry off as usual.

Thanks for reading loves!

Got Grays?

My life is forever changed! I have discovered the easiest, most fool proof way to cover grays! Let me introduce to you......

Root Vanish Treatment by Kazumi.

How it works: It comes already mixed for you in this super convenient squeeze tube. It comes with a brush, but they recommend to just use your hands. The instructions are so EASY. You simply wet your hands (the product won't stain your hands if they are wet), then work into your roots as you would a shampoo, leave on for 10-15 minutes. THAT'S IT!! A brush is included if you would rather use that, but it didn't stain my hands at all.

My thoughts: It's simple, quick, and actually covers gray. I have my hair professionally colored, so I almost wasn't even going to try this product. I pay a lot of money for my color and really didn't want to screw it up. I usually have to go to my stylist and get my roots touched up every month! I had a moment of weakness and about 39582923472 gray hairs I needed covered. I went for it! Eeeeeek.

To my pleasant surprise, the color of my roots didn't look different at all. Maybe a tinge darker (nothing noticeable at all), but ALL of my grays were gone. Woo hoo!!! I also have a ton of product left in the bottle, I'm sure it will last a few more touch-ups at least. I will definitely be keeping this product in stock from now on.

Here is a little video to show you more about how this product works. I found it very helpful!

Hynt Beauty

What I love about this brand: I have a very hard time finding all natural makeup products that are as good as my favorite lines. I admit, I would go for a chemical laden brand if I got the color payback and quality I was looking for. I usually overlook the "all natural, organic, etc." brands because I feel like they don't give me the results I want. FINALLY, I have found a line that is so pure and full of goodness, and actually works as well as my go to brands. It is beautifully pigmented, perfectly packaged, and very high quality.

What is is formulated without: Hynt is FREE of Parabens, Nano Particles, Petrochemicals, Artificial Preservatives, Gluten, and all products are PETA-certified Vegan (except for mascara, which is clearly identified) so there is no wondering or double checking, ever.

My favorite picks from this line:

LIBRE Luxurious Lip Gloss

About the creator: Hynt was born through Co-Founder Meryl Marshall's need and passion to find makeup and skincare products that offered her the assurance and confidence that whatever she was putting on her skin was safe, non-irritable and carcinogen-free. Having recently conquered breast cancer, she took great care in educating herself on the product labels and on each of the ingredients formulated into her everyday beauty products. Quickly, her search for skin-healthy but still luxurious beauty essentials turned into an elusive hunt. To her disappointment, Meryl found that other skin-healthy lines failed to fulfill her desire to use luxuriously textured, richly pigmented, and smartly packaged products. Such aesthetic touches are essential to a how a woman feels each time she applies her coveted makeup essentials -  magical, beautiful, special.

Meryl decided to create her own cosmetics line using state-of-the-art natural formulations. Now women who prioritize the purity and health of their skin, have a glamorous, fun and trustworthy beauty collection that they can wholeheartedly enjoy every day at any moment.

Gloss Guide Lippie Love

Wanted to share with you some gorgeous lipsticks and gloss that I am dying over!! Vibrant reds, perfect nudes, and glistening golds! Enjoy! xoxo

YSL Gloss Volupte in Golden #1: This gold may seem like a color you would never think to actually wear, but it looks AMAZING over a matte peach (like MAC Peachstock). This combined with the peach photographs beautifully. I actually hunted this color down because I saw the combo in a photo.

L.A. Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss in Instinct (red) and Dreamy (nude): I love the whole matte lip look right now, however, I can only do nude or red in that look. These are my favorite formula of any of the mattes I've tried. They don't dry my lips out or make them look flakey, and they stay put.

Technicolor Lip & Cheek Tint in Passion Orange and Mystique Coral (left to right): These are so much fun if you want a pop of color! I am obsessed with the way they feel and look. These 2 shades are soooo gorgeous with a nice little sun kissed glow and minimal eye makeup. They compliment my skin so well. Love packing these for vacation because you can also use them for a little dab of cheek tint.

P.S. This brand is a new Korean line that I am obsessed with. I will post on a few things I love from them - especially their mascara!

Make Matte Lipstick in Scarlet: This to me is just the perfect go to red lipstick. It says matte, but that's just because it has no shimmer whatsoever. This is not that trendy "flat finish". The shade is a perfect mix of every great red that was ever made. In love!

Summer Skincare

Thought I'd share with you some products I'm loving this summer! They have really been helping keep my skin hydrated, unclogged, and bright! Enjoy!

I've posted on Boscia before. This is a brand I absolutely love and keep coming back to. In the summer I can't help but want to be in the sun and have a nice little tan goin on! I LOAD on the suncreen because I never want to burn. With that being said, I'm adding a lot of gunk to my face with the sunscreen, the sweat, etc. This is why I'm loving the Boscia Exfoliating Peel Gel. It is keeping my skin unclogged and glowing this summer. You use it just like a face mask. Apply to clean/dry skin, massage in circular motions, and then rinse with water. I let it sit for about 5 minutes for a deeper "peel". I don't actually peel with this product- it doesn't irritate or make my skin red - it just feels smooth and plump afterwards.

Along with the peel I have found the neatest little sponges they make - the Konjac Sponge Mini Trio. They come in a pack of 3, hence trio! I use them with my face wash and they feel amazing! They are really tiny and compact when they are dry. When you get them wet they expand a bit, but are so silky and soft. I guess each color is suppose to do something different, but so far I'm still using the brown one. One cleanses and brightens, one cleanses and deeply hydrates, one cleanses and purifies the pores. They aren't labeled, so I'm not exactly sure which one does what. I believe the one I'm using now (brown) must be the hydrating one. It's feels almost slimy (not in a gross way). I've really liked them this summer for the extra help with cleansing. I'm so bad about using my Clarisonic, so maybe this is just something fun and different! Each sponge has a little string so you can hang to dry- I feel like it gets less germy this way!

The other brand I'm really liking is H20. It's so funny because this was a brand that was really popular in the 90's and then kind of fell off the map! I started seeing them again in Ulta and was really excited because I use to love it! They have reinvented themselves and have some really amazing quality products. These 2 have been my go to products every day.

The Face Oasis Sea Foam Toner: Just one use and you may be addicted! I'm someone that uses a toner every single day, twice a day (or any time I wash my face). I just have to! This is by far the coolest toner I have ever used! It comes out just like a mousse. You apply with a cotton ball or cotton round just like you would a liquid toner. It's packed with all kinds of goodness from the sea. I'm not sure why, but I always feel like any kind of "sea" anything is better! This has Sea Kelp, Marine blends of Wakame, Sea Fennel, Sea Lettuce, Bioactive Seawater, and Sea Flora Peptide Complex. You're basically a mermaid after the first use! Most of all - I love the way my skin feels after! I'm hydrated and my skin is ready to soak up my moisturizer!

Shine-Neutralizing Gel: I love to put a gel moisturizer on after a long day by the pool or outside! This is so cooling and refreshing! Again, it's packed with goodness from the sea! It's a nice lightweight moisturizer, and even though it is shine neutralizing it doesn't leave me tight or lacking in the moisture department. This is a goodie!!

Favorite Brand Alert!! The Balm Cosmetics

The Balm Cosmetics makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop! They have the CUTEST packaging, best products, and even the product names are adorable!

One of my favorite things in life is OF COURSE lip gloss. Their new gloss "Read My Lips" is amaaahzing! The colors are vibrant, pigmented, and glide on perfectly. They come in a wide variety of colors and textures. Some are sheer with a pop of color and others are totally opaque. I am basically in love with these glosses. They also look amazing over lipstick for a totally different look. Did I mention they are infused with Ginseng (A powerful antioxidant known for its mentally stimulating properties)?! A mind stimulating lip gloss...hmmm...why not!!

Below are swatches in 2 different lighting situations:

Here are some other fun products from their line that I'm dying over! I seriously had way too much fun playing with all this stuff. I have some upcoming bridal and event makeup sessions, so I will post pics of what I used from The Balm. Their palettes are just to die for! I'm especially excited about the cream color cheek palette "How Bout Them Apples". I will never need to carry around a million cheek colors in my kit. Also, the Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter is THE BALM...get it...I'm here all night folks! XOXO

Too Faced Melted vs. L.A. Girl Glazed

I have seen both of these glosses popping up like crazy on Instagram over the last few months. I kept getting the 2 confused. I'm a little late to the game but decided to give them both a try!

The Too Faced Melted is exactly like a "melted" lipstick. It is less glossy and more of a thick lipstick. It is extremely pigmented, totally opaque, and has a nice texture. I like that it has a sponge tip applicator that the gloss squeezes out of. You can be a bit more precise with this.

The L.A. Girl Glazed is more of a thicker lipgloss to me. It is extremely glossy and has a great color payoff.  The applicator is just a slanted squeeze tube.

I really want to try some lighter shades in the Too Faced because I think they would be great all in ones (lipstick and lipgloss). As far as the bolder shades go, this is about as crazy as I can get. I am a nude/pink girl at heart! This is a really fun look for night though!

The Verdict: I am more of a glossy girl, so I like the high shine of the L.A. Girl. For a bolder look Too Faced may be the way to go if you are worried about smudging. To each their own!

Below are swatches in 3 different lightings comparing the two! Too Faced is on the top and L.A.Girl is on the bottom:
