Top 3 Concealer Picks

By popular demand, I am sharing my favorite concealers today! And by popular, I mean popular! What is your favorite concealer?? It's one of the most frequent questions I get asked. Most of us have probably had all of the same issues with concealer: It settles in wrinkles, makes wrinkles look worse, doesn't cover dark circles, cover circles but makes wrinkles stand out...it's an endless cycle! Here are my top 3 picks for all of your under eye woes!

Make Up for Ever Full Cover Extreme Camouflage Concealer I wanted to start with my #1 favorite concealer. I was introduced to this by a friend a couple of years ago, and have been hooked ever since.

What I love about it: A little goes a long way. This tube will last you a very long time. It dries to a perfect matte finish (but will not leave you dry or flaky). Because it dries to a matte finish, once you set with powder it will not budge, crease, settle in lines, or move whatsoever. It also can cover even the darkest circles with just a tiny amount of product. Bonus: It's waterproof!! It will last through sweat, tears, and rainy days! Woo hoo!

I suggest: This formula dries very quickly, so I suggest you apply one eye at a time. I always set my under eyes with powder after applying concealer. The color I use is 6. I use this color year round. It is 2 to 3 shades lighter than my skin, but I prefer a very light under eye.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer I reach for this one on days I'm going for a more natural look. If I'm in hurry, but still need a little help under the eyes - this is my go to.

What I love about it: It blends easily, has a sponge tip wand applicator, covers circles, leaves eyes moisturized without creasing or melting away. This is just a great concealer all around.

I suggest: As always, set with a loose or pressed powder. This step will really make all the difference in getting the most out of your concealer. The color I use is Medium Custard. This seems to be a great neutral color that I can use year round.

Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer This is a super duty, not messin around, get the job done concealer. This is for those full glam nights and special events.

What I love about it: This little tiny jar will last you a lifetime. It is so rich, so opaque, and just plain luxurious. Once applied you will not see any imperfections, dark circles, veins, etc. It gives you that full glam look!

I suggest: Start with the TINIEST little dab and work your way up from there. When I say a little goes a long way, I mean it with this product! This concealer does require a little bit of work. I first start with a teeny little dot on my fingertips and dab under the eyes. I can then see how much more, if any, I need. I then use a concealer brush (my favorite is this Sephora concealer brush) to gently buff it out. Last, I finish blending with a Beauty Blender sponge (make sure to wet it until it expands, squeeze out all water out, blot excess water out on a towel). They key to this concealer is to buff and blend! Set with powder (a must with this) and you are looking totally flawless! The color I use is SX06. If you have a Kevyn Aucoin counter in your area (counter locator link here), I would suggest you get color matched. It's a bit tricky trying to guess your color online.

Note: This can also be used as a foundation for your entire face (use sparingly, blend, blend, blend)

Beauteque BB Bag

There is nothing more fun than a monthly subscription of surprise beauty goodies! I love this new trend and have tried plenty of beauty subscriptions, from New Beauty Test Tube to Birch Box. I have to say Beateque is one of my favorites. It has the most unique products you won't find in any other beauty subscription. The reason? All of the products are Korean. It's super fun because chances are they are products you have never seen or even heard of. The Korean beauty industry is known for being innovative and cutting edge, so this is definitely a one of a kind beauty box. Let's check out what's inside the Beauteque BB Bag!

What's in the August bag:

1. It all comes in the cutest little makeup bag. Awww...and look at the bow! Perfect size to throw in your purse. Every month you will get an adorable new bag!

2. Holika Holika Wonder Drawing No Smudge Liquid Liner: Define eyes with this smudge proof liner. Will not flake.

3. Hanaka V-Line Chin Patch: Collagen and Centella Asiatica firm skin and encourage a v-line shape of the chin.

4. Pure Derm Clean and Fresh Peeling Gel: This mask deep-cleans and mildly exfoliates skin for a refined finish.

5. Mizon All in One Snail Repair Cream: This multitasking cream moisturizes, reduces appearance of wrinkles, and reduces acne scarring and blemishes.

6. The Saem Perfection Concealer: Conceals blemishes for a flawless, long-lasting finish.

7. Pure Derm Hair Mask: Restores hair to radiant condition with honey, sweet almond, olive oil, Chamolie, and Jojoba Oil.

8. Blotting Paper: Absorb oil and banish shine without compromising your makeup.

That's 8 items! Yes please!

A little more about the subscription: You can choose between the BB Bag or the Mask Maven. The BB Bag is a mix of all different makeup products and masks (shown in my photos) and the Mask Maven is strictly masks (for face, hair, etc.). They give you tons of different payment options starting at $13 a month. Pretty sweet deal! Hope you guys enjoy!

3 Products You Need For Perfect Nails

These are 3 nail products I have used for YEARS and the only ones I ever use when I do my own nails. I have been out of all 3 for WAY too long, so I finally ran into CVS yesterday specifically to buy these. I was using several other top/base coats I just happen to have while I was out of these. They left bubbles, chipped, and were plain awful. These are the absolute best.

Orly Bonder - This is the BEST base coat you will ever find. Ever. Ever. Ever. What it is: a unique rubberized base coat that grips for lasting adhesion. It dries super quick to a matte finish. I truly notice a difference when I don't use this particular base coat. I also feel like it fills in ridges and imperfections in your nails for a smooth polish application.

Orly Won't Chip - This makes my polish last for a solid week. When I get my nails done at the salon my manicure is literally chipping the next day, so I say a week is pretty remarkable. What is is: a protective polymer shield that helps nail lacquer chipping and peeling. My favorite thing about it is that it doesn't bubble (my biggest nail pet peeve) and it leaves my nails looking super shiny and glossy.

Nicole by OPI Drying Drops - I really believe these drops help my polish dry faster and prevents nicks. What it does: with just one drop, nails are dry to the touch in 60 seconds and completely dry in 5 minutes. It is formulated with soothing Jojoba and Vitamin E to treat cuticles. It leaves my nails looking soooo shiny and cuticles are super moisturized. Trust me this stuff is amazing, you won't be able to do your nails again without it.

Current Drugstore Favorites

Hi loves! I haven't updated my favorite drugstore products in awhile, so thought I would share what I'm currently using right now! Enjoy!

Makeup:

These Cover Girl lip crayons are a dupe for the Clinique Chubbies at a fraction of price! Love love love these! Honestly, never really would buy any COVERGIRL products on my own, but they sent me a few things and I'm so pleasantly surprised. Back in the day (high school) Cover Girl was my jam! I guess I forgot they have great makeup until now!

COVERGIRL Bombshell Powder Brow & Liner:  I've been wearing this powder liner a lot during the weekday - its quick and easy. I hate having to be too precise when I'm in a hurry and lucky to be even wearing makeup! It can also double as eyebrow shadow!

Rimmel Lift Me Up Mascara: I never buy expensive mascara! I love the wand on this Rimmel mascara - doesn't clump!

For drugstore primer and foundation - these are my 2 favorites! COVERGIRL Outlast Primer & Rimmel Lasting Finish: I like this primer simply because it doesn't make my foundation look splotchy. That always drives me crazy about primers!

Also, if you are a makeup artist on a budget and need many shades of foundations, these are super affordable, long lasting, and cover very nicely.

Hair:

Aussie Total Miracle Collection: I use this shampoo and conditioner every single day. I've always loved Aussie. It smells so heavenly to me!

Their dry shampoo is awesome too! I go through a ton of dry shampoo and got sick of shelling out $50 for Oribe!

Body:

Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer & Instant Sun: These both happen to be by Jergens. I think this self-tanner is comparable to St. Tropez; maybe not quite as dark. Goes on evenly and smooth just like St. Tropez (I used a tanning mitt). It has been my go to this summer! (Warning: go easy on the knees with this product. I do my entire leg and barely rub my knee with whatever is left or it will be too dark)

The in shower lotion is a MUST HAVE for me. I love to moisturize after the shower, but I'm also really lazy. This is so easy! You turn off the water, apply all over your wet body (ooh la la), and then towel dry off as usual.

Thanks for reading loves!

Got Grays?

My life is forever changed! I have discovered the easiest, most fool proof way to cover grays! Let me introduce to you......

Root Vanish Treatment by Kazumi.

How it works: It comes already mixed for you in this super convenient squeeze tube. It comes with a brush, but they recommend to just use your hands. The instructions are so EASY. You simply wet your hands (the product won't stain your hands if they are wet), then work into your roots as you would a shampoo, leave on for 10-15 minutes. THAT'S IT!! A brush is included if you would rather use that, but it didn't stain my hands at all.

My thoughts: It's simple, quick, and actually covers gray. I have my hair professionally colored, so I almost wasn't even going to try this product. I pay a lot of money for my color and really didn't want to screw it up. I usually have to go to my stylist and get my roots touched up every month! I had a moment of weakness and about 39582923472 gray hairs I needed covered. I went for it! Eeeeeek.

To my pleasant surprise, the color of my roots didn't look different at all. Maybe a tinge darker (nothing noticeable at all), but ALL of my grays were gone. Woo hoo!!! I also have a ton of product left in the bottle, I'm sure it will last a few more touch-ups at least. I will definitely be keeping this product in stock from now on.

Here is a little video to show you more about how this product works. I found it very helpful!

Hynt Beauty

What I love about this brand: I have a very hard time finding all natural makeup products that are as good as my favorite lines. I admit, I would go for a chemical laden brand if I got the color payback and quality I was looking for. I usually overlook the "all natural, organic, etc." brands because I feel like they don't give me the results I want. FINALLY, I have found a line that is so pure and full of goodness, and actually works as well as my go to brands. It is beautifully pigmented, perfectly packaged, and very high quality.

What is is formulated without: Hynt is FREE of Parabens, Nano Particles, Petrochemicals, Artificial Preservatives, Gluten, and all products are PETA-certified Vegan (except for mascara, which is clearly identified) so there is no wondering or double checking, ever.

My favorite picks from this line:

LIBRE Luxurious Lip Gloss

NOCTURNE Mascara

About the creator: Hynt was born through Co-Founder Meryl Marshall's need and passion to find makeup and skincare products that offered her the assurance and confidence that whatever she was putting on her skin was safe, non-irritable and carcinogen-free. Having recently conquered breast cancer, she took great care in educating herself on the product labels and on each of the ingredients formulated into her everyday beauty products. Quickly, her search for skin-healthy but still luxurious beauty essentials turned into an elusive hunt. To her disappointment, Meryl found that other skin-healthy lines failed to fulfill her desire to use luxuriously textured, richly pigmented, and smartly packaged products. Such aesthetic touches are essential to a how a woman feels each time she applies her coveted makeup essentials -  magical, beautiful, special.

Meryl decided to create her own cosmetics line using state-of-the-art natural formulations. Now women who prioritize the purity and health of their skin, have a glamorous, fun and trustworthy beauty collection that they can wholeheartedly enjoy every day at any moment.

Gloss Guide Lippie Love

Wanted to share with you some gorgeous lipsticks and gloss that I am dying over!! Vibrant reds, perfect nudes, and glistening golds! Enjoy! xoxo

YSL Gloss Volupte in Golden #1: This gold may seem like a color you would never think to actually wear, but it looks AMAZING over a matte peach (like MAC Peachstock). This combined with the peach photographs beautifully. I actually hunted this color down because I saw the combo in a photo.

L.A. Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss in Instinct (red) and Dreamy (nude): I love the whole matte lip look right now, however, I can only do nude or red in that look. These are my favorite formula of any of the mattes I've tried. They don't dry my lips out or make them look flakey, and they stay put.

Technicolor Lip & Cheek Tint in Passion Orange and Mystique Coral (left to right): These are so much fun if you want a pop of color! I am obsessed with the way they feel and look. These 2 shades are soooo gorgeous with a nice little sun kissed glow and minimal eye makeup. They compliment my skin so well. Love packing these for vacation because you can also use them for a little dab of cheek tint.

P.S. This brand is a new Korean line that I am obsessed with. I will post on a few things I love from them - especially their mascara!

Make Matte Lipstick in Scarlet: This to me is just the perfect go to red lipstick. It says matte, but that's just because it has no shimmer whatsoever. This is not that trendy "flat finish". The shade is a perfect mix of every great red that was ever made. In love!
